"Run the Rocks!" --Jack's Angels Relay for Research  

EVENT SCHEDULE

Vendors and Volunteers finish set-up

8am

Event opens to PUBLIC for check-in and late registration.  

• Drive in to the stop sign and turn left.  

• Event parking is near the Start in the far parking lot in designated areas, and is limited.  

• Overflow parking is available but may involve walking.

Be sure to have your ID with you and a copy of your waiver and online receipt of registration.  There will be waivers to sign at the event if you don't have yours with you.  Weather can vary but it can get quite warm during the day, yet be chilly that early in the morning.  Be sure to wear extra layers to the park!

• All will receive a goody bag with registration packet and t-shirt if you purchased one with your registration (t-shirts available on site)

• Activities for children will be available on site, thanks to Sand Castles Daycare and Jack's Angels.

• Babysitting will be provided if you are racing and are bringing your children.

COURSES and PRIZES: 

5k and 10k are part of Trail Runner Magazine's Trophy Series and feature $100 with first prize

​

These are races on DIRT TRAILS!  They will be marked with both chalk and cones.

Some parts are easy, most have tricky parts, with 2 water stations: maps will be available for download 2 weeks prior to event.

• Kids 1k:  flat and easy going

• 5k run: challenging with rocky footing.

• 5k Adventure Walk/easy course also

• 10k Canyon Run 2 X 5k

• 20K-RELAY FOR JACK IS 4X 5K COURSE

 

All have the same START and finish.  

There is a 5k loop (red) used also for Relay, and 10k Run. 

5k Advdenture walk is orange loop + white adventure loop 

5k Walk easy walk is the orange loop x 3 finishing with kids 1k loop (yellow). 

The kids course(yellow) is it's own 1k loop.

Your times will be captured and logged by volunteers and one race clock will be visible to all participants.  

The WALK is not timed.  

​

• All participants receive finisher medals

• 5k and 10k race winners receive trophies and: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals for Men, Women, Youth

• 20K Relay for Jack:  Parker's Cup, 1,2,3 medals for adult and youth

• Kids 1k winner gets Jack's Cup; 1,2,3 medals for ages 10-12, 6-9, 5 and under

           ALL TROPHIES NAMED FOR LOCAL, SO. CALIFORNIA KIDS WHO FOUGHT DIPG

• 5k and 10k runners receive credit for the Trail Runner Magazine Trophy Series, and 1st place receives $100 prize

• 5k:  Men's ANGEL'S CUP, Women's PRINCESS LEAH, Youth  NATHAN'S CUP

• 10K Men's ETHAN'S CUP, Women's KATHERINE THE BRAVE, Youth JULIA'S CUP

• Kids 1K race also receives 1,2,3 "Jack's Cup" to #1

• 1st for age groups 10-12, 7-9, 5-6

• RELAY for JACK winning team has possession of "Parker's Cup" for a year and has winners names inscribed on the base, in loving memory of Parker Landis who succumbed to DIPG in February of 2017.

• Cole's Trophy and Isabel's Trophy go to the best School for turnout and best Group effort
